Well this little tidbit everyone should enable and try out.  Even if you are not a TiVO fanatic you will appreciate this one.  When scanning through commercials the  ->|  button becomes a 30 second advance button and is really handy for skipping forward and not going too far.

Just start playing a recorded program and press 

Select, Play, Select, 3, 0, Select; 

TiVO will respond with three cheerful bings to let you know the process is complete.  

If your TiVO is rebooted for any reason this will need to be reset.  (From time to time TiVO's are automatically rebooted by the guide service to install new software)
